PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION
11. Evaluation system of Miri Roshni School:
MRS evaluation looks at a student’s areas of challenge and strengths. Doing just one test or assessment wouldn’t provide all the information. Miri Roshni School measures the physical, emotional and academic progress of the students twice a year through evaluation report.
Evaluation report has divided into many developmental areas For measuring these developmental areas we are using following checklists.
Assessment of Children
Assessment of children in ECCE is based on informal assessment techniques like observations, analysis of children's work etc. Mostly in assessment use of pencil and paper testing is not allowed, or at least limited to worksheets with fun activities. The assessment covers all aspects of development and early learning.
Assessment of children’s progress should flow directly from the experiences in which they have been engaged. Assessment information is critical to the child, the parent and the success of the program. Therefore early childhood teachers are required to evaluate the children they teach to discover how they are progressing.
MRS is taking many types of assessments that can be implemented with children.
This Authentic assessment is used to evaluate young children’s growth and development.
Authentic assessment is defined as the process of documenting and evaluating growth and development, over time, using real-life situations. It shows what children can do, what they know, and what they understand and gives an accurate picture of who the child is, and how the child is growing and learning.
IN ECE teachers are carefully collecting, analyze, interpret and display the evidence from documentation, as this makes it possible for others to “see” the learning that takes place when teaching occurs. Documentation does not only provide the evidence needed for reliably assessing children’s progress, but also for meeting accountability requirements, for monitoring children’s growth and development, provides a vehicle for reflection and for programme evaluation.
