Student Council

i) Scope

The purpose of the student’s council is giving students an opportunity to develop leadership by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects. In addition to planning events that contribute to school spirit and community welfare, the student council is the voice of the student body.

ii) Election

Every year MRS conducts election in school. Presiding officer follows six steps to held elections.
i- Calling for nominations.
ii- Making ballet papers.
iii- Conducting the election ( poling day).
iv- Counting the votes.
v- Announcing the results.
vi- Announces election seats (head girl, head boy, sports captain, assembly captain,
cleanliness captain, event captain and CRs of every class).

According to their area of interest students give names to participate in election.
Nominees held their election campaign for a week and convince students to vote for them. On poling day students use their right of voting and elect their representatives.

iii) Social Recitation

Social recitation in MRS is the form of recitation in which the pupils take an active part. The teacher's work becomes the background rather than the working center of the class period. "The children become members of a working community which adopts the principles of character and of good citizenship as the standard of living and working." It differs essentially from the old method in that it avoids the artificial conditions of the old classroom. Where the pupils are doing and being, there can be no passivity or unnaturalness. In MRS 4 weekly classes are allocated to the students where they plan their class execute and implement the class. The CR elected in student council elections holds the class. The teacher in the class just monitors the class and doesn’t involve herself/himself in class affairs.
